Youth Train in Trades

Abby Senior students are able to participate in all of the District Career Programs. Please see more information here.

Work Experience

Work experience is intended to help prepare students for the transition from secondary school to the world of work. It is an opportunity for students to apply classroom learning in a context outside of school and bring a new perspective to their learning. It also gives students a chance to gain new skills that can be used in future work opportunities. The Work Experience courses are a required part of each CTC program and are also offered as stand alone courses to Grade 12 students wishing to fulfill their graduation requirements with an 80 to 100-hour work experience with teacher/classroom support.

2017/2018

Students enrolled in Work Experience this year should meet with Mr. Kleisinger before September 30th.

Youth Work in Trades

Students who are working with a Red Seal Journeyperson could qualify for $1000 scholarship through the Industry Training Authority. Students learn on the job as a youth apprentice and gain 16 credits towards Graduation.  Please speak to Mr.Grell immediately if you think this program might apply to you.
