International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education that prepares students, aged 16-19, for success at university and life beyond.

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the IBO works with schools and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who are internationally minded.

The IB Programme can result in early admission, and advanced placement with credit for many courses covered at the Higher Level over two years of study.

The IBO has prepared a “What is IB?” brochure that explains the rationale behind the programme (see attachment below) and the expectations of students in the programme as well as what students can expect from it.
