Application
Abby Senior is pleased to announce that applications for out-of-catchment students going into grades 9, 10 & 11 interested in the IB programme, are now being accepted for September 2024. These seats are limited and dependent on available space at the school. Download the appropriate application form found at the bottom of this page. The completed package is due by Monday, April 15 and can be dropped off at Abby Senior's main office.
Key Dates for September 2024 Intake
- April 15: Deadline to submit IB application
- April 16-19: Applicants will be contacted for an interview if needed
- June: Applicants notified as to whether their application has been approved, denied, or deferred to a waitlist.
If your child is currently a student at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School there is no application process for the IB programme as recommendations will occur by their grade 10 teachers.
All the required documents (Birth Certificate, recent report card, and two (2) proofs of residence-original documents, Out of Catchment form) must be submitted to our Counselling Center. You can also scan everything as one pdf document, and e-mail it directly to barbara.glenn@abbyschools.ca.
IB Exam Fees
Starting in September 2024 all students enrolled in IB courses in grade 11 will be assessed the following exam fee:
- $150 if enrolled in one (1) course
- $300 if enrolled in two (2) courses
- $450 if enrolled in three (3) or more courses
These fees will be added to School Cash and are to be paid by September 16 of the student's grade 11 year. All out-of-catchment students must pay a $50 registration fee and submitted along with the completed application. This deposit will be applied to the applicant's exam fees.
